James Paul Harris was born on Tuesday, March 22 at 12:27 pm. He weighed 8 lbs even and was 21 inches long. He was born at the Agape Birth Center in Rigby, about 4 minutes from our house. My water broke Monday night at 10:30. I had sporadic contractions all night and then labor kicked in after taking some Blue and Black Cohash Tuesday morning. After taking the herb tinctures my labor progressed very fast. The most surprising thing about birthing naturally without any drugs was that it was not that painful. I labored out of the water but when it was time to push I got into the large bathtub and James was born under water. Drew was able to help "catch" him and help bring him out of the water. James has a strong set of lungs and pinked up immediately. It was a wonderful experience and by far my favorite birth. It was very peaceful and an amazing feeling letting my body do what it was made for. All of my other three births were at the hospital with pitocin and an epidural. It was really cool to actually feel the need to push, and to feel James moving around between contractions. We are so happy to have James here and he is such a sweet baby. And if you are wondering about the name. James is a family name on both Drew and my families and Paul is after my father. And we are not calling him Jimmer :)

What a cool birth story, you looked beautiful! And baby James is just so sweet with his puckered lips. I want to kiss and hold him.
Oh my heavens, I love him! He is just precious. Does he ever open his eyes? ;) I was really excited to hear about your birthing story without meds. But here's the thing... I don't think I've ever heard you complain, so I'm not sure I would handle it like you. I'm glad you enjoyed it though. GOOD JOB!!!
I love him and I love the story!!! How did I not realize that you hadn't had a natural birth till now!?!? You seem like a person who would rock at something like that. Well, congrats and props to you!!! ;o)
I can't wait to come and hold him and squeeze him in a few months!!!
He is so cute and tiny! Thanks for letting us stop by this afternoon. :)
That is amazing and he is so sweet. You are very brave to face something like that after having medical interventions the first three times. That truly is incredible!
I love the story as well. I am so excited to meet him, June can't come soon enough, keep us updated on the blog. Love you sis!
If you're going to name your son after one of the Summers, Paul is an okay choice, but I would have gone with Terry or Kenny...that's just me.
He is So cute you guys! Congrats!!!
