4th of July Fun

We started celebrating the 4th of July on Saturday, June 27th with the Rigby Celebration of Liberty Parade. The kids had a lot of fun decorating their bikes and Kate's car. We walked down the main street in Rigby and ended up at the city park where they had a fire truck spraying the kids with water and games and crafts for the kids to do. When the parade started Will took off on his bike and went to the front of the parade. We couldn't see him but some friends saw him along the parade route and said that he was in the front of the parade leading it. We asked him about it and he said that he had passed the fire truck and the flag holders and was leading the parade. I wish I had a picture of that. On Thursday, July 2nd we went up to the Harris family cabin to spend the night and next day in beautiful Palasades Idaho and Wyoming. Jay and Trudy (Drew's Parents) bought a paddle boat and we took it out on a little lake/pond up in the mountians. We drove up their and also rode the fourwheelers. It was such a pretty drive. The kids had a lot of fun on the paddle boat and on the inflatable canoe. After the fun at the lake we went home to see the Rigby fireworks display. They do it on the 3rd so as not to compete with the big Idaho Falls fireworks show. We watched the fireworks and then had our own show with Drew's sister and brother in-law at our house.

Sparkler Fun

We were so tired from the 3rd we didn't go to the parade on the 4th but we did go to the annual Harris family bbq. We decided that we would skip the fireworks Friday night so that we could put the kids to bed early and be able to wake up for church at 9am. It was a fun week of celebrating our independence. Here's Kate all decked out in red, white and blue.

Marie, You are such a great mom and I love looking at your blog. It's fun to "check in on you" every once in a while. I miss all of our family soooooooo much. You look like you had an awesome 4th weekend! Love you!

I love it!!! I was too busy getting my soggy kids home to participate in any of the other fun things at the park after the fire hose (the curse of water babies, I guess!)I wish I knew you were at the lake on Friday! I would've looked for you after we got back from my reunion dinner.

Looks like everyone had lots of fun and I'm really envious that Kate can achieve two ponytails. Eliza only has, like, 4 hairs in each one when I try to do it on her! Sigh

You guys really kept busy this fourth of July. Vinny and I tried to be more spontaneous this year but nothing like you had going on. Good for you!

It sounds like a pretty good weekend, but it could have been even better if you had seen the field with 1776 flags in it! I heard it was really patriotic...way more patriotic than just one flag. BTW the "My Skinned Knee" book is the best book ever!

crazy busy week sis. I can't believe how big Kate is getting, what a pretty little lady. Can't wait to see her (and the rest of your family) in a couple weeks! (are you ready for everyone?)
